Xiaomi has launched the Xiaomi Pad Mini for global markets. The tablet, first introduced earlier this year in China as the Redmi K Pad, features an 8.8-inch 3K display, Dimensity 9400+ chipset, and HyperOS 2 with AI tools, offering a balance of portability, entertainment, and productivity. The Xiaomi Pad Mini features an 8.8-inch LCD with a 3008 × 1880 resolution in 16:10, delivering 3K sharpness at 403ppi. It supports a 165Hz refresh rate, 372Hz touch sampling, and 1080Hz instant touch sampling for faster response.

The panel hits 700 nits in high brightness mode and supports HDR10, HDR Vivid, and Dolby Vision. For eye comfort, it comes with TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light, Flicker Free, Circadian Friendly certification, and DC dimming. It also supports Wet Touch for use with damp fingers.

The tablet runs on the 3nm MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ with an octa-core CPU, Immortalis-G925 MC12 GPU, and NPU for AI tasks. It uses a centralized thermal design that spreads heat efficiently to maintain performance and comfort during long use.

Out of the box, the Xiaomi Pad Mini runs Android 15 with HyperOS 2, featuring AI tools like Writing, Speech Recognition, Interpreter, Calculator, and Art. It also integrates Google Gemini for creative tasks and Circle to Search for quick on-screen lookups.

On the imaging front, the tablet includes a 13MP rear camera with PDAF support and 4K video recording, alongside an 8MP front-facing sensor for video calls and selfies. Both cameras support HDR and essential modes like portrait and document scanning.

Coming to the battery life, the tablet packs a 7500mAh dual-cell battery with 67W fast charging that hits 58% in 30 minutes. It supports 18W reverse charging and delivers up to 19 hours of reading, 15 hours of video, or 10 hours of MOBA gaming on one charge.

The Xiaomi Pad Mini comes with up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.1 storage. It features dual USB-C ports, one with USB 3.2 Gen 1 and DP1.4, plus Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and dual Dolby Atmos speakers. The tablet measures 6.46mm thick, weighs 326g, has a metal unibody in Grey and Purple, and supports the Focus Pen and Pad Mini Cover.

Pricing & Availability

In the UAE, the Xiaomi Pad Mini 12GB variant is priced at AED 1,599 ($435), while the Pad Mini Cover costs AED 49 ($13). Wider availability is expected in the coming weeks.

Alongside this tablet, the company has also launched Xiaomi 15T, 15T Pro, and Redmi Pad 2 Pro.
